Customs Agent Salary Information

Recently hired agents begin their careers at the GS-5 or GS-7 level. Those at the GS-5 level usually start between $28,349-36,856 annually while those at the GS-7 level make annually about $35,116-45,648. Agents do have opportunities every year to receive a promotion up to the GS-13 level. To begin at a GS-5 level, applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree program. To begin at a GS-7 level, applicants must have completed at least 1 year of graduate work.
