Sheriff Salary Information
In 2004, it was estimated sheriffs received annual median salaries around $45,210. Sheriffs with salaries in the top 10 percentile made about $68,880 annually. Sheriffs in separate regions earn different salaries. For example, sheriffs living in areas where people have higher incomes usually earn more than sheriffs living in regions where people earn lower incomes. Since many people seek jobs in regions where people earn more, candidates need to take actions to separate themselves from the competition.
